Singapore in the digital marathon stages of Food for Earth 2021

On the occasion of the International Earth Day on April 22, 2021, the FAO and Future Food Institute are organizing a 24-hour digital marathon that will take place on the topics of planet regeneration and sustainable development through agri-food systems (https://foodforearth.org/).

Local communities, public institutions, private companies, startups, activists, scientists will participate in the marathon, underlining the crucial role of food and its future production system with particular attention to the optimization of the consumption of natural resources, the reduction of waste, the consideration of environmental impact, the enhancement of the role of farmers and the implementation of a circular economy.

The marathon will touch many countries of the world: Australia, South Korea, Indonesia, India, China, Japan, Singapore, Russia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Turkey, Europe, United Kingdom, South Africa, Congo, USA, Mexico , Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica.

The entire digital marathon will be visible online in streaming from 11 am local time (GMT+8) on the Future Food Institute youtube channel: http://youtube.com/futurefoodinstitute

The contribution from Singapore is expected between 5.00 pm and 5.45 pm local time (GMT+8) on April 22nd. Among the interventions planned by Singapore, preliminary ones are those of: Adam Lyle (Executive, Chaiman, Padang & Co Pte Ltd), Lim Hock Chuan (CEO Temasek Foundation Ecosperity), Lim Kok Thai (CEO of Singapore Food Agency).

Future Food Institute, co-organizer of the event, is a non-profit organization based in Italy but with global horizons.
