Cultural Cooperation

The cultural ties between Italy and Singapore have grown over time, also thanks to the efforts of the City-State in transforming itself into a cosmopolitan reality and at the forefront in the field of art and culture as well, which has led to a growing interest in what countries of great tradition in this sector, such as Italy, could offer.

Our fashion, cinema, sports (especially football) and cuisine are now an integral part of the local scene. Singapore is furthermore a very prominent guest at the Venice Biennale, with which it is has a twenty-year contract, which constitutes an ideal showcase to present the artistic and architectural skills of Singapore to an international audience.

The recent years has experienced a great boost in inter-university cooperation between Italy and Singapore, involving the Italian Universities of Milan, Turin, Genoa, LIUC, LUISS University, the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa, and the University La Sapienza of Rome with the most important Universities of Singapore: NUS (National University of Singapore), NTU (Nanyang Technological University), SUTD (Singapore University of Technology and Design) and SMU (Singapore Management University).
