Cultural Events and Studies

The cultural ties between Italy and Singapore have grown over time, also thanks to the efforts of the City-State in transforming itself into a cosmopolitan reality and at the forefront in the field of art and culture as well, which has led to a growing interest in what countries of great tradition in this sector, such as Italy, could offer.

Our fashion, cinema, sports (especially football) and cuisine are now an integral part of the local scene. Singapore is furthermore a very prominent guest at the Venice Biennale, with which it is has a twenty-year contract, which constitutes an ideal showcase to present the artistic and architectural skills of Singapore to an international audience.

The Agreement on Cultural, Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Italy and Singapore is in force since 1990.

The Embassy, in the absence of an Italian Cultural Institute (closed down on 31 December 2017) is in charge of cultural promotion.
