Very productive meeting this morning between Ambassador of Italy in Singapore and Brunei Darussalam Dante Brandi and the Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Ang Wee Keong.

We reviewed the excellent state of Italy–Singapore cooperation in the maritime domain — both multilaterally, through our close coordination at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and bilaterally, where Italian and Singaporean companies continue to play a key role in strengthening our partnership.

On the Italian side, we highlighted the strong engagement of our shipping industry and RINA, which recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MPA. On the Singaporean side, the Ambassador welcomed the proactive cooperation with PSA, supported by a constant and fruitful dialogue regarding the expansion of activities in Genoa.

We also explored new opportunities for collaboration within the Executive Programme of the Italy–Singapore Agreement on Scientific and Technological Collaboration, as well as in view of upcoming international milestones — most notably Asia Pacific Maritime 2026, where Italy will participate with a national pavilion organised for the first time by ITA, and the Singapore Maritime Week.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Italy and Singapore to innovation, sustainability, and the long-term development of the global maritime sector.
