Italian cuisine is recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage because it is a living culture, capable of evolving without ever losing its identity. This vision is at the heart of the two live cooking events scheduled for Monday, 26 January in Singapore, promoted by the Embassy of Italy in collaboration with Barilla and GialloZafferano USA, with the aim of supporting the Italian system and strengthening dialogue with the local food and hospitality sector.
The events will feature Chef Alberto Marcolongo, an interpreter of contemporary Italian cuisine with over ten years of international experience alongside Alain Ducasse. After formative experiences at D’O by Davide Oldani in Paris and a long professional journey across Europe and the United States, he is now focused on food consulting and new culinary ventures, bringing to Singapore a gastronomic vision rooted in technical rigor, excellence of ingredients, and an international perspective.
The first event, hosted at Barilla’s premises, is a live cooking session designed to demonstrate how simplicity, method, and quality can be translated into authentic and contemporary proposals for local restaurants. The second event will take place at the residence of Italian Ambassador Dante Brandi and is conceived as a space for dialogue among chefs, restaurateurs, managers, and importers – including those from the wine sector – to discuss growth strategies and the strengthening of Italian identity in international gastronomy.
A narrative that shows how Italian cuisine today, more than ever, is culture, enterprise, and the future.
