IN YOUR HANDS is an exciting new multidisciplinary and modular performance, created by Belle Epoque Pte Ltd with the support of the Embassy of Italy in Singapore. Through storytelling, movement, video projection, live and pre-recorded music, IN YOUR HANDS reflects upon how human resilience enables us to overcome the crisis.
The first part BU KE YI (Mandarin for “cannot”) investigates the notion of interdiction. Fours dancers explore the limitations and the possibilities which lie behind the rules. Creativity and determination will show the way to recover from obstacles and difficulties and allow our mental elasticity to spring back in new forms.
The second part LOTUS FUGUE is a remake of the act that premiered in 2021 and reflects on how Beauty, Nature, and Art, exemplified by painter Georgette Chen, play fundamental roles in our society.
Art songs by French Impressionists Faure and Debussy and an original soundtrack by composers Ming and Aryel will accompany you throughout this contemplation.
