The Italian Embassy in Singapore celebrated the eighth edition of the Italian Design Day in conjunction with the Singapore Design Week 2024 (September 26 – October 6, 2024). For the occasion, renowned architect Michele De Lucchi, appointed as the Ambassador of Italian Design in Singapore for 2024, held a series of events in collaboration with key institutions such as the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC).
During the meetings, De Lucchi shared his design vision, emphasizing the importance of a connection between nature and human creativity, and highlighting the need to develop sustainable products that can address future challenges.
These events provided a unique opportunity for dialogue and exchange of ideas among participants and one of the most influential contemporary designers. De Lucchi’s participation in Singapore Design Week 2024 showcased the value of Italian design and its relevance in the Singaporean and regional design scene, strengthening ties between Italy and Singapore in the field of creativity.
