he Ambassador of Italy to Singapore, Dante Brandi, met today with the Minister for Defence of the Republic of Singapore, Chan Chun Sing.
The meeting was an opportunity to reaffirm the excellent state of bilateral relations between Italy and Singapore, and to reiterate the shared commitment to exploring new areas of cooperation in the fields of defence and security, in light of common global and regional challenges.
Within the framework of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Singapore, to be celebrated in 2025, both sides expressed their intention to further strengthen dialogue and cooperation, including through enhanced collaboration between their respective armed forces and defence industries. Particular attention was given to strategic sectors of mutual interest, such as cybersecurity, underwater security and space, which offer concrete prospects for long-term technological and operational cooperation.
The meeting forms part of the broader path of deepening bilateral relations, in view of the upcoming visit to Singapore by the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni.
