From 3 to 8 February, the Singapore Airshow 2026 brings together in Singapore the leading international players in the aerospace sector. Italy is taking part with a broad delegation of institutions and industries, aimed at strengthening dialogue with Singapore and with the strategic markets of the Asia–Pacific region.
The Italian institutional presence includes representatives of the National Armaments Directorate, with Vice Director Luisa Riccardi; of the Italian Air Force, with Air Commodore Giuseppe Addesa; and of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, with Giorgio Aliberti, Director for Export Controls and National UAMA Authority, and Marco Landolfi, Head of the Large Enterprises and Strategic Sectors Unit.
On the industrial side, Italy is represented by major national defence and security players such as Leonardo and ELT, alongside the pavilion of the industry association AIAD, an ICE pavilion hosting seven high-technology Italian companies — Nurjana Technologies, Flygas, Miprons, Zoppas Industries, Esea Automation, Bertoli and Eldes — and a pavilion promoted by Agenzia Piemonte, bringing together three leading companies from the regional aerospace cluster: Mecaer Aviation Group, BSTechnology and Golden Car.
Within the framework of the Airshow, a bilateral meeting was held between Vice Director Riccardi, accompanied by the Ambassador of Italy to Singapore, Dante Brandi, and the Permanent Secretary of Singapore’s Ministry of Defence, Melvyn Ong. The meeting helped define future lines of cooperation between the two countries in value chains and in areas of shared interest for the development of research, innovation and industrial collaboration, notably in space and underwater security, through the involvement of their respective industrial ecosystems.
Following this, exhibiting companies — joined by other Italian industrial players attending the Airshow such as Fincantieri, WASS, D-Orbit, Growermetal and Metasensing — together with around ten Singaporean counterparts, first and foremost ST Engineering, took part in the Industry Day organised by Singapore’s Ministry of Defence on the afternoon of 4 February. The event opened with the finalisation of a Letter of Intent between the Italian and Singaporean Ministries of Defence to strengthen cooperation in defence technologies, followed by institutional interventions from the authorities present, the local defence procurement agency DSTA, and presentations by the participating companies.
Italy’s participation in the Singapore Airshow forms part of the growth diplomacy initiatives promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The coordinated “system approach”, led by the Embassy and carried out together with the Defence Attaché’s Office, ICE, SACE and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, aims to support Italy’s aerospace industry by fostering economic and technological partnerships in the strategic markets of the Asia–Pacific region, with Singapore serving as a key regional platform.
