One of Italy’s highest grossing films of 2025, FolleMente focuses on the conflicting emotions a man and a woman experience on their first date. Italian director and screenwriter Paolo Genovese (Perfect Strangers) takes us inside the chaotic, hilarious universe of Piero (Edoardo Leo), a divorced teacher, and Lara (Pilar Fogliati), a furniture restorer. As they get to know each other, their inner thoughts, doubts, and impulses take on a life all their own. Eight other characters embody emotions and inner conflicts, playfully shaping the couple’s thought worlds.
With an A-list star cast and fresh cinematography, the film is a witty and insightful exploration of the chaos, fears and passions that make first encounters so intense.
