At the request of the interested party, the Diplomatic-Consular Representation can:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>visit the detainee;<\/li>\n<li>provide the names of local lawyers of reference;<\/li>\n<li>maintain contacts with family members, with the expressed consent of the prisoner;<\/li>\n<li>ensure medical assistance and comfort items for the prisoner, when necessary and permitted by local regulations;<\/li>\n<li>favor the transfer to Italy, if the compatriot is detained in countries adhering to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/it\/web\/conventions\/full-list\/-\/conventions\/treaty\/112\/signatures?p_auth=PEqwslGJ\"><strong>Strasbourg Convention on the transfer of prisoners of 1983<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0or with which bilateral agreements are in force;<\/li>\n<li>intervene, in particular cases, to support requests for pardon presented by the concerned person or by his lawyer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Consulate cannot intervene in court on behalf of the compatriot and \/ or bear the legal costs.
