During 2018, the new position of Scientific Attach\u00e9 in Singapore was established, and the assumption of duty took place on 2 January 2019<\/strong>. The official presentation<\/strong><\/a> occurred at the Ambassador’s Residence in the presence of a significant representation of the Italian research community.<\/p>\n

The Scientific Attach\u00e9 is Dr. Nicola Bianchi<\/strong><\/a>, Research Director of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics<\/strong>, formerly Scientific Expert at the FSO and Office IX of the DGSP of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He has carried out research in the field of Nuclear and Subnuclear Physics, publishing over 300 papers, with an H-index of over 100<\/strong><\/a>, and with various responsibilities for scientific projects in Italy, Germany and Switzerland. His most recent assignments include Chairmanship of the European Nuclear Physics Committee of the European Physical Society, Chairmanship of the European Lise Meitner Prize, participation as a member of various international committees such as the Council of the SESAME project in Jordan, the Council of the ALICE project at CERN in Switzerland, the International Advisory Committee of the LHeC project at CERN in Switzerland, the Program Advisory Committee of the TJNAF Laboratory in the USA, the Editorial Board of the HERMES project at DESY in Germany, the National Scientific Committee III INFN in Italy. He is a fellow of the European Physical Society.<\/p>\n

Since May 2020, Nicola Bianchi has had his diplomatic accreditation extended and currently works as Scientific Attach\u00e9 at the Italian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Scientific Attach\u00e9 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI)<\/strong> is the Local Manager of its new Innovitalia<\/strong><\/a> platform dedicated to Italian researchers abroad. All Italian researchers in Singapore are invited to apply for registration<\/strong>. The request will then be validated by the Scientific Attach\u00e9. This platform not only allows to get to know Italian researchers around the world and their related expertise, but also allows the inclusion of job opportunities, news and events related to the world of science and technology. Around 80 Italian researchers are currently registered in the Innovitalia section in Singapore.<\/p>\n

All Italian researchers and lecturers visiting Singapore are also invited to contact the Scientific Attach\u00e9<\/strong> both for information purposes and for a possible better involvement of local academic and research realities.<\/p>\n

International Relations Offices<\/strong> of Italian Universities and Research Institutions may contact the Scientific Attach\u00e9 to facilitate contacts, meetings and agreements with counterparts. These offices are also invited to inform the Scientific Attach\u00e9 of any new MoUs and Collaboration Agreements and to register the same agreements on the CINECA<\/strong><\/a> website.<\/p>\n

The Office of the Scientific Attach\u00e9 also addresses academic or research institutions in Singapore, research groups, researchers and companies interested in collaborating with Italian counterparts in specific sectors.<\/p>\n
