The EUFFSG is a pillar of the EU’s cultural diplomacy in Asia and the world, as a promoter of key values such as inclusivity, creativity and diversity.

In particular, Italy has the prestige of being the only country represented by two works, namely Paolo Virzi’s “Dry” and Alice Tomassini’s “Kordon”. Two of the main expressions of Italian cultural commitment towards today’s topical issues, respectively climate change and the war in Ukraine.

Italy debuted at the EUFFSG with Virzi’s dystopian comedy-drama, awarded the Premio Pasinetti for “Best Film” at the 79th Venice International Film Festival, the “best soundtrack” at the Soundtrack Stars Award 2022, as well as the Special Prize Green Drop Award, which was projected on May 19. Local academic students coming from the Lasalle College of the Arts, the Nanyang Technological University and the Ngee Ann Polytechnic have been presenting their cinematographic works, with the aim of strengthening the people to people exchanges and the mutual understanding promoted by the EU Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) in Southeast Asia.

Italian leading role in the enhancement of European cultural diplomacy is, once again, re-affirmed in Singapore, as the Italian Embassy continues its devoted support to the EU Delegation.

The tickets to watch “Kordon” are available for sale HERE

Further information about the EUFFSG can be found HERE

The Singapore’s European Film Festival (EUFFSG) is back with its 32nd edition. 24 films produced by 23 European countries are being displayed, starting from the 16th until the 31st of May, to celebrate Europe’s shared cultural heritage through cinema.
