Even Singapore, now seen as a model of order and modernity, once grappled with secret societies that thrived until they were decisively dismantled.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This seminar will connect Singapore and Sicily to examine how literature can shed light on the global persistence of organized crime \u2014 fostering a dialogue that bridges cultures, histories, and continents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event also marks the <strong>100th anniversary<\/strong> of <strong>Andrea Camilleri<\/strong>\u2019s birth.
