For the first time, Italy participates in GovWare with a national pavilion.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Singapore, 16 October 2026<\/strong> \u2013 Promoting Italian expertise in cybersecurity and deepening dialogue on emerging challenges in cyber diplomacy were the main objectives of the visit to Singapore by Minister Plenipotentiary <strong>Alessandro De Pedys<\/strong>, Director-General for Cyber Affairs, Information Technology and Technological Innovation at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, from 14 to 16 October, on the occasion of the 2026 Singapore International Cyber Week (<strong>SICW<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the highlights of Italy\u2019s participation in SICW was the launch of the first Italian National Pavilion at GovWare, one of the leading international events dedicated to cybersecurity. Jointly organised by the <strong>Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI)<\/strong>, the <strong>Italian Trade Agency (ICE)<\/strong> and the <strong>National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN)<\/strong>, the Pavilion brought together eight Italian companies \u2013 Drivesec, IPS, Yalla Security, Sentrynet, DEAS Cyber+, Bynario, Random Power and AD Consulting \u2013 seeking to develop new business opportunities and partnerships in Singapore and across Southeast Asia. As part of the event, De Pedys took part in the panel <em>\u201cItaly\u2019s Experience in Strengthening the National Cybersecurity Ecosystem\u201d<\/em>, alongside <strong>Luca Nicoletti<\/strong> of ACN and <strong>Sergio Strozzi<\/strong> of MAECI, which focused on Italy\u2019s experience in strengthening its national cybersecurity ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Italy\u2019s contribution to the international debate continued during SICW\u2019s high-level plenary sessions on diplomacy, with De Pedys participating in the panel <em>\u201cAlgorithms and Alliances: Will AI Take Over Cyber Diplomacy?\u201d<\/em>, which explored the impact of artificial intelligence on cyber diplomacy and the emerging challenges it poses for international relations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The visit also included meetings with representatives of Singapore\u2019s institutions, including <strong>Foo Chi Hsia<\/strong>, Second Permanent Secretary at the <em>Ministry of Digital Development and Information<\/em>, and <strong>Kok Wee Ong<\/strong>, Assistant Chief Executive of the <em>Cyber Security Agency of Singapore<\/em>. De Pedys also participated in the sixth edition of the <em>Counter Ransomware Initiative<\/em>, which aims to strengthen international coordination against ransomware attacks and address emerging threats arising from technological developments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The programme also included De Pedys\u2019s participation in a roundtable on strategic communication and countering disinformation, hosted by Italy\u2019s Ambassador <strong>Dante Brandi<\/strong> at the Embassy, as well as a visit to the exhibition <em>ABITO<\/em> at the National Gallery Singapore.
