After the tremendous success of its premiere at the Singapore International Film Festival 2025, with tickets sold out in just two days, we are excited to bring Paolo Sorrentino’s film La Grazia back to Singapore, this time in partnership with the newly opened Filmhouse (formerly The Projector).

Synopsis and Awards

Mariano De Santis, the President of the Republic, is at the end of his term; he has in fact entered the white semester. Widowed for eight years from his wife Aurora, whom he still misses very much, he is a Catholic and author of a criminal law manual described as the Himalaya K3, and has two children.

But above all, he faces two moral dilemmas. At the end of his term, amid tedious days, the last tasks arise: deciding on two delicate requests for clemency, which intersect, in an apparently inextricable way, with his private life. Moved by doubt, he will have to decide. And, with a great sense of responsibility, that is what this great President of the Italian Republic will do.

The film won seven awards at the Venice Film Festival, including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor, and was nominated for the European Film Awards.
