The Embassy of Italy in Singapore and the German European School Singapore (GESS) are inviting you on Thursday, 29 October 2026 for a very special morning to welcome the launch of our Italian Mother Tongue Programme at the German European School Singapore (GESS).
GESS believes that every child grows best when their roots are respected and celebrated, because that is how they gain the confidence to discover and own their future. The Italian Mother Tongue Programme is another step on that journey.
His Excellency Dante Brandi, Ambassador of Italy to Singapore, will be the guest of honour on that day.

What to look forward to
- Be part of a memorable moment for the Italian community as we celebrate the launch of the programme.
- Find out how the programme fits into the school day, from Preschool to High School.
- Meet other families who share your language and heritage, and ask us anything you would like to know.
The programme is designed for native Italian speakers and will be delivered within the International Baccalaureate programme. It starts in Preschool from January 2027, and in Primary School, Middle School and High School from August 2027. It will help your child grow in rich, confident Italian, and it joins our wider mother tongue and language offering, where openness and diversity are part of everyday school life.
