Singapore, 28 July 2026 – From clinical medicine to brain health, from genetics and precision medicine to psychiatry, the multiple dimensions of longevity were at the heart of the Italian Longevity Salon 2026 – The Future of Longevity & High Performance, held today at the Embassy of Italy in Singapore in collaboration with Asia MD, a Singapore-based organisation active in the health and medical sectors.

The event brought together representatives from healthcare, research and the private sector to explore the new frontiers of longevity and the preservation of high levels of physical, cognitive and emotional performance.

Opening the event, the Ambassador of Italy to Singapore and Brunei Darussalam, Dante Brandi, stressed the importance of a shared reflection on the future of longevity:

“The challenge is not simply to increase life expectancy. It is to ensure that the years we gain are lived in good health, with vitality, purpose and dignity. Ongoing research into the Blue Zones, including Sardinia, also reminds us that longevity is not the result of a single factor, but of the interplay between biology, lifestyle, environment and social relationships.”

The speakers included Dr Chong Kian Tai, Urologist at Surgi-TEN Specialists and Co-founder of Asia MD; Dr Serenella Tolomeo, Senior Scientist at A*STAR Institute of Advanced Intelligence and Computing in Singapore; Prof Giuseppe Novelli, Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and President of the Lorenzini Foundation in Milan; and Prof Kua Ee Heok, Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at the National University of Singapore.

The initiative, which is set to continue in the coming years, underscored the importance of scientific and technological cooperation between Italy and Singapore in a field of strategic importance to both countries.
