The Embassy of Italy in Singapore is pleased to support a conversation with two prominent Italian visual artists, Simone Legno and Mery Saporito, exploring the intersection of character design and fashion illustration.
The moderated conversation will explore their distinctive visual languages and the ways in which global influences, from Japanese pop culture to European haute couture, have shaped their aesthetics while reflecting a shared Italian sensibility. The event will also highlight their connections with Singapore, bringing together Legno’s experience of years of collaborations in the city and Saporito’s perspective on her first visit to Singapore.
Simone Legno is the co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of tokidoki, a kawaii-inspired lifestyle brand. Born in Rome and trained at IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, he has collaborated with leading international brands and creative projects, including Marvel and Karl Lagerfeld. His recent work includes Luce, the official mascot of the 2025 Jubilee, and Italia-chan, the mascot of the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.
Mery Saporito is a Milan-trained fashion illustrator known for her distinctive live-sketching style. Her professional work has included illustrations for leading international fashion houses, including Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Valentino.
