Federico Fellini’s dreams

Celebrations of Federico Fellini’s birth centenary (1920 – 2020)

On the occasion of Federico Fellini’s birth centenary (Rimini, 20 January 1920 – 31 October 1993), the Embassy of Italy in Singapore exhibits on January 20 in its spaces open to the public a selection of drawings taken from the “Book of dreams “by Fellini, representative of recurring themes in the movie career of the Maestro. The exhibition is made available by the Municipality of Rimini (© Municipality of Rimini, Francesca Fabbri Fellini) and takes place simultaneously in the world in various Italian Embassies, Consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes. The “Fellini 100″ logo that portrays Fellini in a pose as a tamer of the circus, reproduces a drawing specially created by the director Paolo Virzì, who was inspired by one of the most famous photos in the history of cinema: Fellini tamer on the set of 8 ½.”The Book of Dreams” is a “diary”, kept by Federico Fellini from the late sixties until August 1990, in which the great director faithfully recorded his dreams and nightmares in the form of drawings, or in his own definition of “markers, hurried and ungrammatical notes”. A colorful journey through the vast territories of a genius’ imagination, the volume has added a fundamental element to the study of the great director’s creative experience.Promoter of the Exhibition: MAECI – Directorate General for the Promotion of the Country and Municipality System of Rimini.
