On the occasion of the Club degli Investitori’s visit to Singapore, the largest Italian network of business angels that invests capital, expertise, and connections to support the growth of innovative startups and scale-ups, a high-profile meeting was held at the Italian Embassy in Singapore, organized in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.
The Club’s mission in Singapore aims to explore new opportunities for collaboration and investment in one of the world’s most dynamic ecosystems, where technology, finance, and innovation meet daily to create global value.
Dante Brandi, Italian Ambassador to Singapore, opened the meeting by highlighting the strategic role of the city-state as an international hub for finance and technology, and the importance of strengthening Italian business presence in Southeast Asia:
“In Singapore, this combination of advanced research, academic research, and practical applications in key sectors exists and works effectively. This is where our companies need to be present, to maximize the flow of information and investment opportunities.”
Following the Ambassador, Giancarlo Rocchietti, President of the Club degli Investitori, shared the evolution of the community and the vision guiding the Club, which aims to create connections between ecosystems, support the international expansion of Italian startups, and facilitate the meeting of private capital and innovation:
“Being here means bringing the energy and vision of our startups and investors to one of the most innovative contexts in the world. Singapore is a laboratory of the future: a place where technology, capital, and expertise meet, and where Italy can play a leading role.”
Pietro Ginefra, Financial Attaché at the Embassy, provided an overview of the economic context and financial tools that make Singapore a global reference point for investments and sustainable growth.
Giorgio Calveri, Director of ICE Singapore, illustrated the activities supporting the promotion and internationalization of Italian companies, with particular focus on high-tech sectors, Fintech, and digital services.
The second part of the meeting featured testimonials from three Club members:
- Federico Cristina, CFA, CEO of Memento Blockchain, presented the company’s interoperable and compliant solutions for digital asset management, tokenization, and fund servicing;
- Cristiano A. Motto, CEO of Fairtile, discussed how technology and data are transforming credit intelligence and improving lending decisions;
- Luca Nestola, CEO of Ulisse, shared how behavioral analytics enhance retail and tourism experiences through smarter use of data.
A lively and constructive discussion highlighted the excellence and vision of Italian entrepreneurship, ready to connect with global innovation hubs to create new synergies and growth opportunities.
