Calls for Awards of Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to senior researchers and Italian “startuppers” abroad

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) is promoting the fifth edition of the Award for researchers and the Startupper Award for Italians abroad.

The awards, intended for Italian talents who successfully dedicate themselves to research and innovation in foreign countries, are divided into two categories:

The “Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award” is aimed at brilliant Italian scientists who, in carrying out research activities abroad, have made a significant contribution in the field of science and technology, promoting scientific-technological cooperation of Italy with foreign institutions or with international organizations. This year the award is reserved for senior researchers, with at least 10 years of post-doctoral research.

The “Innovation that speaks Italian” Award, on the other hand, is a recognition of the high innovative value of Technological Start-ups  abroad, founded by Italian citizens.

The deadline for submitting applications for both calls is January 7, 2022.

The prizes, which will consist of a medal and a diploma from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will be awarded in March 2022 (date to be defined) during the annual Conference of Scientific Attachés in service at the Italian Embassies network around the world.
