Singapore, 27 August 2026 – The Ambassador of Italy to Singapore and Brunei Darussalam, Dante Brandi, travelled to Brunei Darussalam for the first Italy–Brunei Industry Day, organised by the Embassy of Italy with the support of Page Asia Pacific and the Zenita Group.
The event brought together fourteen Italian companies active in the fields of defence, security and advanced technologies, alongside representatives of Brunei’s institutions, armed forces and industrial sector.
Ambassador Brandi opened the event in the presence of Acting Permanent Secretary for Defence Poh Kui Choon and Deputy Chief of Defence Force, Brigadier General Pahlawan Sharif, highlighting the importance of cooperation based on partnership, trust and joint development: “We are not here to present a single product or a single industrial solution, but to present an ecosystem of capabilities.”
From maritime and underwater security to critical infrastructure protection, cybersecurity, mission-critical communications and artificial intelligence, the Italian companies presented technologies and expertise across a range of strategic areas. These included Fincantieri, WASS and ELT Group.
The visit also provided an opportunity to deepen bilateral dialogue, relations between Italy and ASEAN, and reciprocal investment opportunities through meetings with the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norhashimah Hassan and Shazainah Shariffuddin, as well as with Sofian Jani, Chief Executive Officer of the Brunei Investment Agency, the sovereign wealth fund of the Asian state.
Ambassador Brandi, accompanied by Consular Correspondent in Brunei Enrico Mandelli, subsequently met with representatives of the Italian community in the country and Italian companies present in Brunei for the occasion.
