Christmas Wonderland, Singapore’s biggest Christmas event, that since 2014 has welcomed almost 5 million visitors, is finally back in the iconic Gardens by the Bay.
Organized by Blue Sky Events in partnership with the Embassy of Italy in Singapore for the lighting installation called Spalliera, the event will be held for its ninth edition for a full month, from the 2nd December to the 1st January.
This year the Italian region of Apulia will be protagonist with luminous installations produced by Paulicelli Giangranco Srl in Apulia and transported from Italy to Singapore thanks to the support of Mercury, Mermec, Paola Favale and Rossorame.The design is made by Paolo Maimone of Namaste Europa Srl.
During the event it would be possible to taste and buy also some italian specialities and products in the two huts of the Italian Christmas Market next to the Spalliera from some associations and distributors based in Singapore (inlcuding oil of olive, festive hampers, truffle products, panettone, pasta and pasta sauce, vinegar, jams & chutney, limoncello, parma, salamis and culatello with tigelle and ciabatta sandwiches, handmade jewelry and tote bag, candles, charity calendars, coffee, bags and wallet, t-shirts and accessories).
From the 10th to the 18th of December at the huts of the Italian Christmas Market will be present the Chef Leonardo Palmisano, from Locorotondo in Apulia, patron of the restaurant Caruso in Singapore, that will prepare apulian typical products and traditional regional dishes: Burrata cheese, Stracciatella cheese, Tiramisu mono portion packed, Panna cotta mono portion packed, Zeppola pugliese, Vin cotto pugliese, Orecchiette pasta, Cavatelli pasta, Olives green of Cerignola and Taralli pugliesi.
The Italian Ambassador to Singapore, Mario Andrea Vattani welcomed the initiative: “Christmas Wonderland is one of the most significant mass events organized by Singapore in the iconic Gardens by the Bay, a location known worldwide for the extraordinary architecture of its greenhouses and the ultramodern Supertrees. In this high-visibility setting, Italy and specifically Apulia will have this year the role of the main character”.
