The VIII° edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World is set to enchant Singapore from November 6 to December 1, 2023. The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation organizes this initiative that focuses on the theme “At the Table with Italian Cuisine: Savoring Wellness.” Its core mission is to celebrate island-wide the outstanding quality of Italian culinary traditions infused with innovative elements.
This rich culinary experience will feature many activities, including promotion of Italian restaurants, products, informative seminars on urban farming, the link between food and health and the Mediterranean diet, workshops and B2B event. There will also be convivial initiatives dedicated to Italian excellence, such as tastings, pairings, and elegant gala dinners.
The Embassy of Italy in Singapore coordinates this initiative in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (ICCS), the Italian Academy of Cuisine (AIC), the Italian Cultural Centre Singapore (APICS), the Italian Women Association (IWG), the Singapore Italian Association, The Italian Catholic Community, companies, importers/distributors, and other valuable contributors and local partners.
On November 14, 2023, a joint project between Singapore and Milan called “BIZE_UrFarm” will be unveiled at the Singapore Institute of Technology. This project is part of a bilateral program in Science & Technology and is aimed at developing sustainable solutions for urban food production. This aligns with Singapore’s 30-by-30 plan and the legacy of EXPO 2015’s focus on food in Milan.
